Aims
The aim of the course is to give a deeper understanding of the development of geometry from Euclid to Thurston.
Content
Axioms and proofs. Use of examples and models. Hilbert's axioms for geometry. Euclidean geometry.
Reflections and other isometries. Hyperbolic geometry. Threedimensional geometry.
Instruction
Lectures and problem solving sessions.
Assessment
Oral examination at the end of the course. This may be
supplemented by a written test.
