Entry requirements
The participant is required to have a degree in engineering, 80 credit points, or to have equivalent background knowledge.
Aims
By taking the course, the student is to acquire:
- knowledge of different quality tools and quality methods.
- knowledge of quality management systems and the ability to implement the quality management system ISO 9000:2000 in a business.
- a broad environmental view, knowledge of the life cycle assessment (LCA) tool and the environmental management system ISO 14001.
Content
Quality concepts, quality and profitability, quality methods of development and production.
Leadership for quality, processes and process management, the seven management tools.
The international quality system ISO 9000:2000.
The environmental management systems ISO 14001 and EMAS.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as an aid in production development.
Instruction
Lectures, seminars, exercises, assignments and projects.
Assessment
Written examination at the end of the course. Exercises and project assignments must also be completed and approved.
