Aims

To give a familiarity with how the syntax and semantics of a programming language are used

to construct modern compilers.

Content

Lexical analysis. Syntactical analysis (parsing). Parser generators. Syntax directed

translation. Code generation for modern machines (RISC architectures). Error handling.

Instruction

Lectures and laboratory exercises.

Assessment

Written exam (3 credits) and mandatory

programming assignments (4.5 credits).
