Aims
The aim of the course is to give knowledge of the chemistry and biology of inland water ecosystems, to give knowledge of human impact and measures that can be taken to improve the situation and act as a basis for a businesslike influencing of public opinion.
Content
Chemistry and biology of inland waters. Eutrophication. Nutrients. Restauration of waters. Acidification and lime treatment. Human impact in short and long time perspectives. Subsoil waters, rivers, lakes, coastal waters, inland seas and oceans as recipients of pol-lution. Technical and economic problems in connection with water distribution in domestic, industrial, and agricultural demands. Legislation.
