There are many ways for you to get involved as an alumnus and stay in touch with Uppsala University. Our alumni are our ambassadors and help us spread Uppsala University’s knowledge and values around the world. The alumni give back generously and contribute to their alma mater.
COME TO ONE OF OUR EVENTS
Would you like to see your old classmates again, meet new friends or learn more about an exciting topic? Come to one of our events! The University regularly organises career development seminars and other events. The alumni associations also organise various types of meetings to which they invite their members.
Subscribe to our calendar to guarantee you don’t miss any events. Also, make sure to join the alumni network and update your postal address. This will enable us to reach you with relevant invitations to events organised by universities and other actors we collaborate with.
GET INVOLVED IN AN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OR CHAPTER
The network includes numerous alumni associations and alumni chapters that offer their members professional networking opportunities, lectures and speaker events, Valborg celebrations, company visits and other activities.
START A NEW ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OR CHAPTER
If there is no association or chapter that is suitable for you, we would be happy to help you arrange an alumni get-together, or to establish a new alumni group, in your hometown. Contact us via email if you would like to start an alumni association or chapter.
BECOME A GUEST LECTURER OR PARTICIPATE IN A MENTORING PROGRAMME
You probably have plenty of interesting work experience to tell current students about. Many departments organise mentorship programmes and engage guest lecturers. Contact the relevant department and express your interest!
STUDY VISITS
Would you and your colleagues like to receive our students for a study visit? Opportunities to visit workplaces can inspire students and provide answers to the important question of what happens after graduation. Contact the relevant department to offer study visits!
RECRUIT OUR STUDENTS AND GRADUATES
As part of our study programmes, students can take on assignments at various types of organisations. You can advertise projects that students can apply for through Studentkraft (in Swedish), or post a position on UU CareerGate and present your employer brand to Uppsala University students and graduates.

NOMINATE THE ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR
Each year, Uppsala University awards the title Alumnus of the Year to an alumnus or alumna who has made an outstanding contribution to their professional field, or whose achievements otherwise make them a worthy recipient of this honour. Nominations can be submitted by anyone with a connection to Uppsala University.
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUR STAFF
Uppsala University’s continuing professional development builds on current research and experience-based knowledge. We offer a broad range of open courses and programmes for individuals and tailor-made programmes for authorities, organisations and companies.
