Cryptosporidium cause diarrhea in humans and animals. Immunosuppressed human patients and young cattle can get life-threatning infections. Currently there is no drug available for treatment of cryptosporidiosis. Through our research we aim to identify candidate proteins which can be used for vaccination in humans who are at high risk of acquiring cryptosporidiosis (mainly immunocompromised individuals) and in animals (especially calves and other livestock) which die from cryptosporidiosis
