Den 18 november kommer Dylan Couck, gästforskare hos IfU från Ghen University, att presentera sin avhandling under ett högre seminarium i utbildningsrätt med titeln "Constitutional safegards for univeristy autonomy: reality or illusion?". Seminariet kommer att hållas på engelska.
Couck själv beskriver seminariets frågeställning såhär:
"Under the principle of “freedom of education”, the Belgian Constitution guarantees the autonomy of educational institutions, including universities. Yet this constitutional freedom receives little attention in parliamentary debates, while universities face increasingly detailed regulation. This seminar examines the paradox between strong constitutional protection and the complex institutional reality. Drawing on two centuries of legislation, parliamentary records and interviews with university leaders, it explores how the meaning and practice of university autonomy in Belgium have evolved over time."
