The Object Interviews method has proven useful to engage with aspects in interdisciplinary research, for example within Material Culture Studies. See Sophie Woodward (2015). Object interviews, material imaginings and 'unsettling' methods: interdisciplinary approaches to understanding materials and material culture, in Qualitative Research 16 (4).
Suzie Thomas is a Professor of Heritage Studies at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. She is the Spokesperson for the current Scientific Research Network on Heritage Practice Communities in a Digitized World. She is interested in the ways in which different groups and communities engage with heritage, and did her PhD on metal-detectorists in England and Wales. She teaches Bachelor- and Master-level courses at the University of Antwerp on a variety of topics including participatory methods in heritage work. Her research interests also include participatory approaches to heritage, so-called dark or contested heritage, and heritage crime.
Everyone interested is welcome to join! Attendants outside of the department are kindly asked to write us beforehand, so we can assign a suitable room for the seminar: helena.wangefelt@abm.uu.se
