Abstract
Philosophy of language boasts a rich literature on topics such as deception, lying, and misleading. Yet there is, to date and my knowledge, nothing written about evasion. It is an unfortunate gap, as I believe this phenomenon is distinct from the others. My current research seeks to rectify this oversight, and I will share my preliminary notes in a talk. After a brief introduction to the topic, I give a handful of examples of evasive utterances, and end with some theorizing about these.
