Early seeds grow deep roots:
Executive function, word fluency and metaphor comprehension in young people with cochlear implants
Abstract: This project, part of the multi-professional TAYACI project, examines how early cochlear implantation influences higher-order linguistic and cognitive development in adolescence and young adulthood. Executive functions, word fluency and metaphor comprehension are explored in relation to age at implantation and compared with typically hearing peers. The findings offer new insights into how early auditory experience shapes later language and cognition.
