Den 12 juni välkomnar vi er att delta vid ett högre seminarium i offentlig rätt med Jaakko Markus, gästforskare från Univeristy of Lapland. Tema på seminariet: Varieties of cartel sanction legislation
The presentation examines how and why similar legal systems have adopted different solutions to combat cartels by repressive public law sanctions. While Sweden and Finland exclusively rely on administrative fines, Norway and Denmark have recently tailored a combination of individual criminal liability and corporate administrative fines, and German legislature has pondered on cartel sanctions since the 1950s. Developments have been guided not only by the requirements of EU law, but also by subtle differences concerning e.g. leniency programs and criminal policy.
