Background

More than 30 years ago, the water transporting channel Aquaporin was discovered that bidirectionally transported water, the most abundant molecule in living organisms, through cellular membranes. In 2003 the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of the water channel was awarded to Peter Agre. Since then, much progress has been made in our understanding of the regulation of water transport through the aquaporin channel and its role also in the transport of gases.

This mini symposium will help us appreciate these new advancements in the field. We are very proud to be able to invite three very well initiated colleagues from USA to elucidate us on this matter.

Warmly Welcome!
