Aaron Williamon, Royal College of Music (UK): "HEartS Professional: Cultivating sustainable and progressive development in the arts in the COVID-19 landscape"

Abstract
The arts and creative industries play a vital role in connecting and inspiring communities. In the COVID-19 crisis, these sectors have also been among the most disrupted, with performances, exhibitions, and exchanges of all kinds all but halted worldwide. The HEartS Professional project is investigating the Health, Economic and Social impact of COVID-19 on PROFESSIONALs in the ARTs. During this presentation, professor Aaron Williamon will provide an overview of the project findings, from large-scale surveys to qualitative case studies, and consider how to build an inclusive and sustainable recovery in the arts, in light of the mental health and professional impacts of the last two years.
