The October 2024 parliamentary elections in Georgia have sparked prolonged mass demonstrations, with protests continuing in the streets of Tbilisi for over three months now. These developments have underscored deep-seated concerns about electoral integrity, political legitimacy, and declining public trust in democratic institutions. The ongoing crisis is shaped by allegations of electoral irregularities, structural weaknesses within state institutions, and the official position of the ruling party. Furthermore, the broader implications of mass protests for Georgia’s democratic trajectory will be examined, with a particular focus on state responses and the strategic mobilization of protest movements. The crisis deepens political instability while also posing significant challenges to Georgia’s pro-Western orientation, raising critical questions about the country's democratic resilience and geopolitical direction.
