IRES gathers international scholars to discuss the phenomenon of legal systems of non-recognised entities in Europe
On 6th of May 2019 IRES in cooperation with the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Ukraine) and University of Graz (Austria) oranised a workshop entitled “Non-Recognized Entities under International and EU Law”. The purpose of the event was to discuss theoretical and practical issues related to the phenomenon of legal systems of non-recognised entities in Europe, ranging from Abkahzia and South Ossetia, to Donetsk and Lugansk, and Nagorno-Karabakh and Transnistria, and Catalonia. The participants of the workshop represented universities in Austria, Georgia, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, the UK and Ukraine. They bridged the issues of international law, EU external policy, EU sanctions policy and legal systems of non-recognised entities under the framework of law in context analysis. Contributions of the participants will lead to a collective monograph publication.
