När examinera och varför?

Examination and assessment can serve multiple purposes and happen at different occasions in a course: from diagnostic tests at the beginning, via in-class quizzes, to final exams. In this seminar, we will discuss the question of what purpose different types of assessment serve, and how to make sure that this purpose is met. This includes the question of what assessment to choose, when to place it and how to give feedback to the students, with the goal to improve their learning.

In order to make the seminar concrete, we urge you to think of a course beforehand, that you have taught/will teach, and where you may want to improve the assessment. During the seminar, you will get the opportunity to apply the discussion to the course you chose.

The seminar can be taken as part of the EAST course and will be given in English.
