Nobel laureates to lecture at Uppsala University

On St. Lucia Day, December 13, seven of this year‚s Nobel laureates will visit Uppsala University. After a reception held by the Vice-Chancellor, they will deliver public lectures at various departments. For many years it has been a tradition at Uppsala University to invite the year‚s Nobel laureates to visit the University. This year the laureates for medicine, Mario R. Capecchi, Sir Martin J. Evans, and Oliver Smithies, the physics laureates, Albert Fert and Peter Grünberg, and two of the three economics laureates, Eric S. Maskin and Roger B. Myerson, have accepted the invitation. On December 13 they will be received by the Vice-Chancellor and then will visit various campuses, where they will give public lectures. The lectures are open to anyone interested.
