Mål

After the course, the student will

- have a good understanding of the structure of Europe's social and economic geography; its historical background and current trends. That includes:

- (1) the role of economic considarations in integration; (2) migration: integration, multiculturalism, citizenship and transnationalism; and (3), ideology and spatial integration in Eastern Europe.

Innehåll

The course focuses on evolving structure of Europe's social and economic geography: its historical background and current trends. Three main themes are explored in detail; (1) the role of economic considarations in integration; (2) Migration: integration, multiculturalism, citizenship and transnationalism; and (3), Ideology and spatial integration: The case of Eastern Europe covered.

Undervisning

Instruction is in the form of lectures and seminars.

Tuition language is English.

Examination

Written exam and seminars.
