The objective of the course is to introduce the past and present educational system in Sweden.

Undervisning
Instruction
The instruction consists of lecturers, seminars, group exercise, practice exercise, studyvisits and tutoring.
Contents
Philosophical and sociological perspectives within the problem areas of education, the modern history of education in Sweden, child rearing, formal schooling and instuction and other systematic influences in Sweden. It covers the political, economic and cultural conditions under which the educational system must function. The descriptive part will be analysed through the planning strategies and reform work which have been used in Sweden during the last 50 years.
Examination
