Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- identify and reflect on spatial planning and policy for wind power establishment
- analyse the spatial planning process for wind power
- identify and reflect on the environmental impact from wind power
- explain how to take into account public opinion and establish a dialogue about wind power
- describe and reflect on the permission process for a wind power project
Content
This course covers the topics of energy policy, financial incentives, spatial planning policy and the permission process for wind power development. Additionally planning strategies and methods, environmental impact including landscape considerations, opinion and acceptance are studied. The knowledge gained during the course will be applied by the student by performing an analysis of the planning process for wind power.
Instruction
The course is given as a net-based course. Hand-in assignments are submitted to the e-classroom on the Internet and the student will receive personal feedback by the teacher. A forum for discussion is available.
Assessment
Written hand-in assignments (6 credits) and a written project assignment (1.5 credits).
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
