About the course
This course concerns critical phenomena and conformal symmetries, allowing you to comprehend and allow you to apply these concepts. It covers the use of conformal symmetries to constrain correlation functions, exploring their implications in two dimensions, and provides an overview of the significance of string theory in addressing diverse questions.
You will gain proficiency in describing strings and point-like particles from both a world-plane and target-space perspective, as well as solving motion equations for strings under specified initial and boundary conditions. The curriculum includes key topics such as conformal field theory, operator product expansion, conformal bootstrap, and the quantization of point particles, along with discussions on open and closed strings. The course offers a succinct yet thorough understanding of conformal symmetries and their practical applications within the realm of string theory.
The course is a continuation of the course Conformal Field Theory and String Theory.
