Entry requirements

150 credits in Computer Science/technology, of which at least 30 credits is on the advanced level. Courses in Programming, Algorithms and Data structures, Operating systems, and Computer networks are required.

Learning outcomes

After completing this course, students are able to use knowledge and skills from other courses within the IT program to solve a large and complex problem task in the form of a project. This involves being able to...

  • Structure a large task into individual tasks in a large project group
  • Identify, obtain and use key knowledge associated with the individual tasks
  • Present a realistic design of a complex computer system
  • Use "state-of-the-art" design principles and programming methods
  • Usa a suitable project method and plan a project

Content

The beginning of the course consists of introduction to key areas that are related to the project task, followed with a team-working and planning phase. After this, the project is carried out, and demonstrated both internally and externally at the end of the semester.

Instruction

The course is carried out as a project, supervised by a teacher team. Throughout the course, lectures are offered to students on related topics to support them in the project work.

Assessment

The course is examined on a pass/fail basis. To pass the course, a student must participate in the project and work with his or her assigned tasks actively. Students are expected to work in an assigned workplace during office hours throughout normal working days.
