Entry requirements
180 credits from a medicine, biomedicine, nursing or physiotherapy programme with documented experience of project work within fields relevant to the course.
Learning outcomes
After the course, the student should:
- have an insight into the research conducted by the research group
- be able to independently plan and conduct research within the area
- apply a scholarly working method
- be able to independently examine and evaluate scientific articles
- be able to compile, analyse critically and evaluate obtained results
- be able to communicate theories and research results with senior researchers in projects that lie within the subject area
Content
The course comprises work over a period of 10 weeks within the framework of a research project that is conducted at one of the department’s research groups. Studies of relevant scientific literature are conducted in parallel with this work. The thematic content is determined by the research group where the student has chosen to perform the project.
Instruction
The student will take part of a research environment and practice the methods used in the research group. Teaching will be under supervision and is given in form of active participation in a research project and independent studies of scientific articles and other relevant literature. Additionally, the student should participate in education and research seminars connected with the theme of the project as agreed with the supervisor. Participation in the different parts of the course is compulsory. The course can be given in English.
Assessment
The course concludes with an oral seminar and or a written account of the project, which is decided by the supervisor. To pass the course with grade G, the project presentation and participation in seminars and other compulsory parts need to be approved by the supervisor and the examiner.

The reading list will consist of relevant up-to-date scientific literature within the research area, selected in consultation with the supervisor.
