Content
Work within the field of earth sciences at e.g. SGU (Swedish Geological Survey) or an equivalent employer. The content of the work will be determined on the basis of the specialisation of previous studies. The course can be designed to include e.g. field work and sampling as a basis for a future undergraduate thesis.
Instruction
In general teaching is carried out by an external supervisor at the employer. If the the work is planned to prepare for an undergraduate thesis, there will be an additional supervisor from the Department of Earth Sciences.
Assessment
Written presentation at the end of the course. In addition the supervisor must submit a certificate about the student's participation
Other directives
It is primarily the student's responsibility to identify a suitable place for an internship, although the examiner can assist in the process if necessary. Before the start of the internship, the place for the internship, the supervisor at the workplace, and the work plan must be approved by the examiner. A total of 15 credits Internship in Earth Science may be used in a degree in earth sciences.
