Passing the course requires: Passed ward work. Passed attendance at other parts according to regulations that have been announced at the beginning of the course. If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator.

Students who have failed have a right to go through the course further 4 times (= total 5). If special circumstances occur, the programme committee can admit additional occasion.

Prematurely interrupted clinical placement: A student may fail and may interrupt the placement in advance if there is a noticeable risk because the student due to rough lack of skills may injure a patient other individual or valuable property if he or she continued participate in the placement. An individual plan should be decided for the student and be given to him or her in writing. This plan, to be decided by the programme committee, must state the knowledge and skill shortages at hand, the support the student may receive from the department and also state how and when the assessment will take place. A student is entitled to a maximum of two control occasions, however no more than once a year. The student may not participate in the clinical placement again, until the programme committee has checked and accepted the required knowledge and skills of the student. Decisions on the individual study plan may be delegated by the programme committee to a student welfare committee or equivalent with student representation.
