About the course

The course focuses on how evolutionary history is manifested in observable patterns in and among organisms, and how these patterns can be detected and analysed to draw conclusions about the underlying processes that causes them. The course has a broad perspective on evolutionary patterns, including patterns in time and space (biogeography and fossils), between species (phylogenies), within populations (population genetics), in the individual organism (developmental biology), and in the genome (molecular evolution). The course therefore includes methods from different fields of evolutionary biology.
