Multi-million grant for national research infrastructure in digitisation

Digitisation at Uppsala University Library
The Swedish Research Council has awarded a multi-million grant for the project "SwePrint, Digitised Swedish Print". The funding will support the digitisation, accessibility, and long-term preservation of Swedish printed material from the 15th century to the present day.
The initiative includes developing a shared platform where all digitised material will be gathered, making it easier to locate and use for researchers, students, and the general public.
Uppsala University Library is participating in the SwePrint project alongside the National Library of Sweden (KB) and the university libraries in Lund, Gothenburg, Stockholm, and Umeå.
This is fantastic news. We can now continue our work with renewed vigour to make our collections accessible and enable new forms of research. To achieve this, libraries must work closely with researchers from a wide range of disciplines and subjects, says Johanna Hansson, Library Director at Uppsala University Library.
