The violence in Gaza has given rise to intense discussions in the media, academia, and international institutions. A central issue concerns how the concept of genocide is understood and applied in relation to other crimes under international humanitarian law. With proceedings before the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, these questions are both legally and politically consequential.

UGHS invites you to a panel discussion examining the legal, political, and moral dimensions of genocide, with particular focus on intent, evidentiary standards, international humanitarian law, and the implications of the ongoing cases.

Speakers:
Professor Mark Klamberg (Stockholm University)
Professor Tomislav Dulić (Uppsala University)
Dr. Kamal Makili-Aliyev (Gothenburg University)
Dr. Cecilie Hellestveit (Norwegian University of Science and Technology)

The discussion will be held in English and will conclude with a Q&A.
Join us for a forward-looking and critical conversation.
