How might historians and literary scholars engage with synthetic data—AI-generated text, images, and metadata—while preserving critical, interpretive, and ethical reflection? This one-day hackathon invites participants from history, literature, digital humanities and cultural studies to collaboratively explore the creative and methodological potential of generative AI for historical and literary research.

We invite

  • researchers of all career stages (Ph. D. student to professor)
  • students

in history, history of science and ideas, economic history, literature, digital humanities, cultural and heritage studies to a hands-on workshop on AI and synthetic data.

Participants will:

  • Learn about synthetic data and AI
  • Participate in an experiment with synthetic historical/literary data
  • Have the opportunity to be part of a publication presenting the results of the experiment
  • Enjoy an included lunch and fika 🙂

No prior knowledge about AI or digital research methods is required!

The number of participants is limited and registration is necessary.
