Director
Panagiotis Baliakas is a specialist in hematology and clinical genetics working as a senior consultant at the department of clinical genetics at Uppsala University Hospital and a research group leader at Uppsala University. Solid tumors
Lotte Moens, PhD, is the work package leader for solid tumors. Lotte is a clinical molecular biologist in pathology at the department of Clinical Pathology at Uppsala University Hospital. Lotte has a background in toxicogenomics, multifactorial diseases and molecular pathology and has extensive experience in genomic methods development. Inherited diseases
Joakim Klar, PhD in Medical Genetics, leads the work package on inherited diseases at Clinical Genomics Uppsala. His work focuses on the clinical implementation of advanced genomic technologies to improve the diagnosis of inherited disorders. Microbiology
Associate professor René Kaden is a microbiologist at the Clinical Microbiology department at Uppsala University Hospital and leads the work package for Microbiology. Bioinformatics
Jonas Almlöf, PhD, is a bioinfomatician and co-leader for the bioinformatics work package.
Jonas has a background in computer science and genetics association studies as well as protein structure simulations. Since joining the facility, Jonas has been working on developing bioinformatic applications mainly for Solid tumors with the Hydra genetics pipeline framework. Patrik Smeds, is a bioinfomatician and co-leader for the bioinformatics work package.
Patrik has a background in computer science and has worked in both the private sector and academia. Since joining the facility, Patrik has focused on developing automated workflows, the Hydra genetic pipeline framework, and projects to visualize data for the geneticists.
