Ventilation

The administration, in collaboration with Akademiska hus, is working on reducing energy consumption at Blåsenhus. As a result of this effort, the administration board decided to turn off the automatic ventilation during evenings and weekends, and have installed ventilation buttons. When the ventilation is off, it can be manually initiated via buttons located in the corridors.

The ventilation is activated Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 16:30, during the regular academic term. Outside these hours, ventilation can be activated using buttons placed in the corridors on each floor. The ventilation will then be active in the respective building for 2 hours.

Smoke, scent, and allergy policy

For the comfort of everyone, it is expected that all adhere to our guidelines and policies regarding smoking and strong odors.

Smoking:
We adhere to the rector's decision on a smoking ban at entrances and follow the recommendations of the National Public Health Institute regarding e-cigarettes, hookahs, and similar smoking devices. Smoking is not allowed indoors and within a radius of 15 meters from all entrance doors.

Scent policy:
Please refrain from using strong odors in Blåsenhus. Avoid perfume, aftershave, strongly scented flowers, and tobacco smoke, as these may be intrusive to others.

Nut allergy:
Be aware that there are individuals with nut allergies on campus, and kindly refrain from consuming nut products.

Pets:
At Uppsala University, there has been a general prohibition since 1975 against bringing pets into workplaces and classrooms. However, the head of the department (Prefekc), or similar, can provide written permission, following the regulations outlined in UFV 2000/37 (pdf), for instances such as a guide dog for the visually impaired.
