Call for Applications: ICM Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility 2026

Uppsala University has been awarded funding from Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) with the aim of promoting collaboration with South Korean universities – Korea University, Seoul National University, and Sungkyunkwan University. The mobility applies to incoming and outgoing doctoral students in all research fields. Applications may be submitted for a period of three or six months. The mobility period is not tied to semester dates.

Eligible doctoral students

Eligible doctoral students should:

1. be admitted at UU, Korea University, Seoul National University, or Sungkyunkwan University
2. be outstanding within their academic field.

The application

The application should be written in English and include:

• A motivation letter from the applicant (max 1 page, including the planned duration of the stay)
• An invitation letter from the host university
• A recommendation letter from the doctoral student’s supervisor

Financial Conditions

ICM funding for outgoing doctoral students includes:

• A six‑month stay provides up to a total of 6,588 EUR. The total amount includes 30 EUR/day during the stay in South Korea and 1,188 EUR for airfare,
  or
• A three‑month stay provides up to a total of 3,294 EUR. This includes 30 EUR/day during the stay in South Korea and 594 EUR for airfare.

ICM funding for incoming doctoral students includes:

• A six‑month stay provides up to a total of 5,387 EUR. The total amount includes 23.33 EUR/day during the stay in Sweden and 1,188 EUR for airfare,
  or
• A three‑month stay provides up to a total of 2,694 EUR. The total amount includes 23.33 EUR/day during the stay in Sweden and 594 EUR for airfare.

Practical information

The mobility applies to three‑ or six‑month visits to Uppsala University or to one of the South Korean universities (Korea University, Seoul National University, or Sungkyunkwan University). The first mobilities will take place during Autumn 2026–Spring 2027.
