Associations and bodies for law students
As a law student in Uppsala you can turn to one of the supportive or advisory bodies that are available for students. Another alternative is to become involved with a student association for law students.
Juridiska föreningen (The Uppsala Law Society)
Student Union at the Faculty of Law
Juridiska föreningen i Uppsala (JF) is the student union at the Faculty of Law at Uppsala University. The activities are based on premises at Övre Slottsgatan 3 (called Jontes). The union conducts both study monitoring and social activities, including book sales, café, pub activities and sports activities, and also publishes a member magazine and organises member dinners, study visits, balls and parties. The Law Society is responsible for all student monitoring at the Faculty of Law, primarily through the Student Council, which is a committee within the Society.
Student monitoring
The Study Council is responsible for the study monitoring and study improvement part of JF's activities. The President of the Law Society is the study monitor at the faculty. It is the study monitor and the Study Council that you can (and should) turn to if you have concerns, problems or questions regarding the law programme.
Members of the Student Council sit on all boards, groups, committees and commissions at the Faculty that deal with issues of importance to students. The Student Council can also provide support and help with projects that you want to run at the Faculty, for example in the areas of gender equality, work environment, health, working life - the only limit is your imagination!
Social activities
JF works to ensure that all law students have the best possible time studying. There are many different working groups within the association that work with different things. There is, for example, a gasque group that organises the association's ball and all gasques during the year. A club catering team is responsible for the activities at Jonte's cabin, where you as a member can book the cabin for an evening for a small sitting.
Contact with the labour market
After your studies, it's time to enter the labour market. The Labour Market Group works to bring together the many actors on the labour market with you as a student. This is done, among other things, by organising lectures and meetings together with companies, authorities and agencies. Every autumn, Contact Day is also organised, which is a labour market fair for law students.

Student associations for law students
In a city like Uppsala, there are of course a number of associations aimed at students. Here we present only the associations that are active among our students and are mainly run by our students.
ELSA Uppsala
ELSA (The European Law Students' Association) is the world's largest independent organisation for law students. The association is aimed at both law students and recent law graduates who have an interest in international issues.
FEMJUR
Feministiska Juriststudenter Uppsala works to promote norm criticism and a gender perspective on the law programme at Uppsala University, and beyond that in the legal profession and in the legal discussion in general. The association organises, among other things, lectures, discussion groups, galas and reviews of course materials.
