Admission and registration

You will find admission and registration information for courses or programmes offered at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research for the coming or current semester below.

Registration for the Master’s Programme in Peace and Conflict Studies

Admitted applicants:
When you have been admitted to the Master's Programme in Peace and Conflict Studies, the first thing to do is to activate your Student Account. You are recommended to do that as soon as you have received your notification of admittance.

Second step is to register in order to keep your spot. Registration is open from July 24 until August 28, 2026. With your activated Student Account, you log into the student records LADOK and register yourself for the first two courses on the programme: Causes of War (course code 2FK008) and Methods I (course code 2FK053). In order to keep your place, you must be registered by August 28 at the latest.

Conditionally admitted applicants:
If you have been conditionally admitted to the Master’s Programme in Peace and Conflict Studies, with the condition that you need to have completed your Bachelor’s degree by the start of the programme, then you must prove your eligibility. You will need to upload your degree diploma and complete transcript to your University Admissions account as soon as possible, but no later than August 31. It is important that they are officially issued by the appropriate office at your university and that you follow the instructions specific to your country of study. If issued in a language other than Swedish or English, please submit both the original documents and an official translation in English or Swedish. You will also have to send an e-mail to study@uu.se and liana.lopes@pcr.uu.se stating that you have uploaded the documents, no later than August 31. Make sure to include your name and the name of our programme.
In case your degree diploma will not be issued by August 31, it is important that you contact both the programme coordinator and administrator by August 14 at the latest in order to secure your place. Please note that other conditions may stop you from registration, for example, if you are a fee-paying student and the university has not yet received your payment.

Applicants on the reserve list (waiting list):
If you are placed on the reserve list, you will be contacted by the programme coordinator via e-mail in case you can be offered a place. You then need to reply within a given period of time. Remember to check your emails, including your spam mail.

There will be an introduction to the programme on August 24-27 – the schedule for this will be sent in mid-August.
The courses on the programme start on August 31, 2026.
