UUniFI makes a head start with a first call

Hello there Tobias Sjöblom, Director of the Uppsala University Future Institutes, UUniFI: You previously mentioned that UUniFI would be ramping up its operations this autumn. Yet, you are already issuing a call for proposals. What happened?

"Two of our institutes are already up and running. When one of them, Circus, was about to announce one of its recurring calls, the other institutes saw an opportunity to join forces straight away."

The timeframe is quite tight; the deadline is already 7 April.

"Yes, and considering our goal is to generate truly top-tier applications for research funding from external providers, it might sound like a short window. However, you only need to present your initial idea in the application to us, and it should be no more than two pages long."

Is there anything specific to keep in mind before starting to write?

"UUniFI is driven by excellence and originality in tackling complex societal challenges. It will be exciting to see which ideas this captures and triggers across the university. Furthermore, this call is just the first building block in developing our operations. There is more to come."
