Work environment group

The work environment group attempts to ensure good physical and psychosocial work environment at the Department. The group informs the Department’s board and the head of the Department regarding the work-related questions in order to ensure that the work environment regulations are followed. The group is monitoring and handling in particular the following issues:

- to propose and follow up the Department's work environment action plan

- to recommend Department’s safety-, chemical safety-, and fire protection representatives

- to follow up statistics regarding long-term sick leave and workplace accidents and incidents

- to regularly perform safety rounds at the Department and to compile safety round reports

- to lay the groundwork for safe handling of chemicals, narcotics, flammables, radioactive substances and biological material, including genetically modified organisms

- to endeavor a good collaboration between the research groups and the administrative unit regarding good physical and psychosocial work environment

• to facilitate that the Department’s staff has a good knowledge about work environment
