The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority’s enforcement style, 2005-2015

Research shows that financial supervisory agencies differ in their style of enforcing regulation and policy. Individual supervisory staff can also have their individual enforcement style. However, the effectiveness and legitimacy of financial regulation will be undermined if the styles of enforcement are too varied among the staff, and compared to the agency’s overall style.

This project examines the enforcement style of the Swedish FSA and its staff between 1991 and 2021.
