2.3 Family Pension Committee

The Family Pension Committee is responsible for allocating funds from certain foundations to support retirees from Uppsala University, as well as surviving dependents of employees who have applied for financial assistance, primarily for funeral support, pension supplements, and special grants.

The committee shall consist of:

-the Vice-Chancellor as chair, or a person appointed by the Vice-Chancellor

-the Universitys HR Director

-a representative from the Uppsala University Foundations Management of Estates and Funds (Uppsala akademiförvaltning)

-a member appointed from among the Universitys teaching staff,

-a member appointed from among the Universitys technical/administrative staff,

-a member nominated by the staff organisations.

Permanent adjunct member: University Ombudsman

Secretary: representative from the HR Division

Members who are not ex officio are appointed by the Vice-Chancellor for a term of three years. When necessary, a university lawyer from the Office of the Legal Affairs Division shall attend the committees meetings to provide support.
