Short presentation

Gurbet Peker is a PhD candidate in Ethnology, Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology. She is also part of the Multidisciplinary Graduate School in Sustainability Development at Campus Gotland. Her research interests include more than human relations, tourism, rural and urban studies, cultural heritage and materiality. In her dissertation, she explores symbolic, practical, and identity-shaping roles of Gotlandic sheep in the making of the island of Gotland as a tourist destination.
