Short presentation
I am pursuing my PhD studies at Uppsala University, Department of Women and Children's Health, International Maternal and Children's Health Unit. My PhD topic is related to Young People Sexual and Reproductive Health with specific research on ‘’Access to Comprehensive Abortion Care among young people in a legalized context in Mozambique’’. My education and research work is mentored and supervised by Pia Axemo (Associate Professor), Birgitta Essen (Professor) and William Ugarte (Lecturer).
Biography
I am from Mozambique, a low-income country located in Southern Africa. I hold a Master’s degree in Public Health with Social Science as background. I have been working on Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health for about fifteen years. The last five years of my working experience I have been mostly working on implementation research within the scope of Health Services and System Strengthening for Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health. Through operational research, I also worked with Mozambique Ministry of Health on integrating Gender Transformative Approach into Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health at policy level, health promotion and service delivery at facility and community level taking into consideration context-based scientific evidence.
