Docent, Distinguished University Teacher

Short presentation

My research focuses on subsurface flow and transport processes and how these are influenced by various reactions and processes. Recently my main focus has been on the fate transport & remediation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) . I also work with other contaminants (e.g. chlorinated organics) and geological storage of carbon dioxide. I teach courses about e.g. groundwater and contaminant transport and I am the Examiner for MSc theses projects in Environmental and Water Engineering.

Biography

I have a PhD in Hydrology from Uppsala University in 2007 and have since then worked as a researcher first at the Colorado School of Mines, USA (postdoc) and then again at Uppsala University (UU) where I became a professor of geohydrology in 2020. I am associate professor in Hydrology (Swedish: "docent") since 2012 and professor in charge of postgraduate studies in Hydrology at UU since 2023. I became a distinguished university teacher at the Faculty of Science and Technology (UU) in 2021. I have also been a visiting researcher at Sweden's Geological Survey (SGU; 20% of full time 2012-2015).
