Short presentation
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Lillie Lab and I am interested in the consequences of host-parasite interactions for biodiversity. I use population genetic, genomic and transcriptomic approaches to understand how parasites shape host genetic diversity and how this diversity responds to demographic and environmental shifts. Ultimately, I aim to understand how parasites affect the host's evolutionary trajectory and persistence in a changing world.
Keywords
- Host-parasite interactions
- Immunogenetics
- Conservation genomics

Research
I study the parasite diversity in Swedish sand lizard populations, for which I am developing a methodological approach using minimally invasive sampling and high-throughput sequencing. More information can be found here.
I also study the consequences of genetic rescue in the Swedish sand lizard, see here for more information.
Lastly, I characterize the diversity and geographic distribution of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) genes in the Swedish sand lizard. These genes are important genes of the immune system involved in the recognition of infections and often show extraordinary diversity within and between populations that mirrors the diversity of infecting parasites.
