Short presentation

My work explores music, sound, digital media, and environmental activism at the intersections of technology, nature, and society. I investigate how sonic practices interact with platform technologies, visual culture, and participatory engagements, with particular attention to how sound creates affective connections, facilitates digital solidarity, and shapes imaginaries of sustainable futures.

Research

My PhD research examines the role of music and sound in digital environmental activism, with a particular focus on TikTok. I investigate how musical practices, including popular music, ambient and experimental soundscapes, and remix/DIY forms, are used to communicate ecological concerns and engage audiences around movements such as #SaveTheOcean and #ClimateChange. Through this work, I explore how sonic practices shape affective engagement and forms of collective participation.

Drawing on approaches from music and sound studies, media studies, and environmental humanities my research explores the way sonic practices interact with platform technologies, visual culture, and participatory practices. I am particularly interested in the ways in which sound creates affective connections, facilitates digital solidarity, and contributes to new ways of imagining the relationship between music, nature, and society.
