Biography
I've joined Uppsala University in August 2026 as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie doctoral researcher (DC1) within the Print4Life network, supervised by Prof. Cecilia Persson, Assoc. Prof. Francesco D'Elia, and Dr. Sviatlana Lamaka (Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon). I hold an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University (2023–2025), where my DoD-funded thesis investigated large-scale wire arc additive manufacturing and laser-directed energy deposition of duplex stainless steels, in collaboration with Lincoln Electric and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. My work has resulted in three first-author publications and several co-authored papers. Additionally, I hold a B.Tech. in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, India.
Research
My PhD research focuses on developing magnesium-based alloys processed via laser powder bed fusion for biodegradable bone implants which are engineered to bear load during healing, then degrade safely rather than require surgical removal. The work combines process parameter development, microstructural characterization, and corrosion testing to establish structure-degradation-property relationships. Planned secondments include QUINTUS Technologies (Sweden), Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon (Germany), and Dublin City University (Ireland).
