Short presentation
Dr. Sandra Kleinau is a professor of molecular immunology and is interested in the function of the immune system. Immune cells protect us from infectious agents and keep us healthy. But why do they sometimes start to attack the body's own tissue, such as in an autoimmune disease? Can we learn from this misdirected attack to find a cure and at the same time develop an immunotherapy that kills cancerous cells? Answering these questions is what drives the lab´s work.
