The Department of Informatics and Media and the national research network Queer futures of AI, accordingly invites Uppsala University colleges and students to the event Opacity and Queer Tactics in the Age of AI.
The event gathers around the uneasy entanglements of queer theory, queer politics, and artificial intelligence, attending in particular to the frictions between demands for visibility and strategies of opacity in our present AI condition. A panel including Ricardo Muñoz Sánchez (University of Gothenburg and member of Mormor Karl); Yulia Razmetaeva (Uppsala University), and Onur Kilic (Umeå University), will discuss impacts of AI on privacy and algorithmic discrimination against vulnerable groups; as well as networked and technological resistance in times of invasive data extraction.
This is followed by a provocation talk titled The Politics of the Mask, by Lusine Djanyan, member of Pussy Riot, focusing on arts, activism, and resistance under systems of repression.
