In a world driven by technology, data, and algorithms, mathematical knowledge determines who understands what is happening, who can make informed decisions, and who has the power to shape the future. The documentary Counted Out (USA, 2024, 90 min) is a timely and thought-provoking film that highlights the importance of mathematics for the individual, for society, and for democracy.

The film inspires those who are already interested and offers recognition and motivation to those who do not see themselves as ‘math people.’ After the screening, there will be a panel discussion with students, mathematicians, and mathematics teachers.
