PDEA Seminar: Existence and uniqueness of radially symmetric solutions to mean field equations

Abstract: In this talk, we present the mean field equations which have applications to both mathematics and physics. We discuss the existence and uniqueness of radially symmetric solutions under certain conditions and develop a constructive method to obtain them. Moreover, we explain the sharpness of the results and some further open problems in this area. Finally, we mention some applications of our work in several areas such as statistical mechanics, quantum mechanics, differential geometry, and analysis of blow-ups.
