Lab environment and facilities

Lab environment

Four 3D workstations with the following software set:

  • VG StudioMax – for segmentation and 3D rendering
  • Dragonfly – for e-learning for automated segmentation
  • Mimics with Materialise 3-Matic – for segmentation and mesh preparation for Finite Element Analysis
  • Geomagic – for mesh preparation/correction for Finite Element Analysis
  • Strand7 – for Finite Element Analysis
3D-Labb

3D virtual histology lab with powerful workstations for 3D segmentation and analysis of synchrotron data.

3D print facility

We have been trained to use the 3D print facility at Uppsala University.

3D print

On the left, 3D print of a T. rex skull; on the right, 3D prints of humeri of Carboniferous tetrapods.

Imaging facilities

We have performed experiments at the following imaging facilities:

  • European Synchrotron Radiation Facility - Grenoble, France
  • Soleil Synchrotron - Paris, France
  • The Swiss Light Source - Villigen, Switzerland
  • Diamond Synchrotron - London, UK
