The Department of Scandinavian Languages offers a wide array of courses.
We have courses in the Swedish language as well as Danish, Norweigan and Icelandic. We also offer courses in Swedish as a second language and courses about the history and development of the Scandinavian languages, for example Runology.

Swedish Language
The courses in the Swedish language develops your theoretical knowledge in Swedish linguistics (grammar, historical linguistics, sociolinguistics) as well as skills in oral and written communication.
Swedish as a second language
Teaching in Swedish as a Second Language is a skill with high demand at the job market. Second language teaching is also an important part of our society and you as a teacher can make a big difference in students language learning. This course gives you the tools and knowledge that takes to become a good teacher of Swedish as a Second Language.
Courses in Swedish or students with other first languages than Swedish
The courses are free of charge and are available at different levels.
Scandinavian Languages
The courses includes studies in four Scandinavian languages. It provides an introduction to modern Icelandic, Norwegian and Danish, as well as knowledge of Swedish historical language change, social and geographical language variation (dialects) and grammar.
